I have taught reading for 13 years at Clara Barton in Minneapolis but next year the district is reconfiguring the schools. Barton's middle school, where I taught mostly EL Somali kids, will be eliminated which is super sad because K-8 have so much worth. While I decided not to teach before the pandemic, it has been sort of lucky as distance learning is really hard. I feel for all teachers.
So this year, I was excited to travel to see our kids, hike, ski, but life has been postponed. I look forward to seeing everyone and learn how everyone is doing.
